Hospice Visiting Program – Visiting Volunteers provide direct support with patients.

This program provides carefully selected and specially trained volunteers who provide support in the home, hospital or care facilities.

  • Caregiver support
  • Bereavement support

Support Volunteers

There are many ways to volunteer and support Hospice.  Some areas include :

  • Equipment support
  • Administration
  • Writing for our social media, brochures etc
  • Lending Library
  • Special skills – massage, healing touch, haircuts etc
  • Crafts
  • Fundraising
  • Event Coordination or support
  • Artists for Butterfly Brushes Paint Nights
  • Music
  • Pet therapy
  • Other special talents you might be willing to share

Board Member

Our board is comprised of committed community volunteers who honour our Mission Statement by helping to provide a volunteer service dedicated to the compassionate care of persons in our community living with life threatening illness and their families including bereavement support.

Directors are elected for a two-year term up to a maximum of three consecutive terms.  Interested individuals can contact the Executive Director through the office for further information.

Friend of Hospice Membership

Believes that Hospice Palliative Care is of benefit to the people living with advancing and life-threatening illness and their families in 100 Mile & District.

Gains knowledge of available programs, literature, personal support and equipment.

Shares their knowledge of Hospice Palliative Care with friends and family who might benefit from the program.

“A FRIEND” IS UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO BE ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN THE SOCIETY.

However, if you would like to help, please consider the following non client supportive activities such as assisting with community or fundraising events, or other special talents you may have such as craft making, quilting, baking, photography, social media….

Memberships are $10 annually.

Ways you can donate

Make a donation to help support the 100 Mile District Hospice Palliative Care Society

Programs and services are all provided at NO COST thanks to generous donation and local fund raising!

Make a donation in memory of a loved one. It is often a thoughtful remembrance in lieu of flowers.

Bequests -gifts made through wills or living trusts are an opportunity to ensure that end of life support for patients and families will continue to be available for all in need of support.

Recycling Program: take your empty bottles and cans to Gold Trail Recycling Depot and simply say these are for the 100 Mile Hospice Program and the great folks the will put the proceeds on the Hospice account.

Third Party Fundraising: A third party fundraiser is a fundraising event or activity organized and promoted by an individual or group on behalf of the 100 Mile Hospice Society because they value hospice services in our community.  Have idea or event planned contact us and let us know your plans and we can help with promotion and support.
