We invite you to come out for a stroll.100 Mile Hospice is once again offering A Hospice Winter Walk in memory of your loved one.The intention of this event is to provide a mourning activity to the community, free of charge, to honour and reflect on a loved one who has died. The forested area of the trail on the 100 Mile Marsh trail will be lit with tea lights and marked with inspirational quotes. The invitation to place your cards, notes, flowers and photos into the candlelit bags is an opportunity to do something with your grief. Simply walk the trail and reflect. Anything left in the bags will be collected at the end of the evening. All articles will be respectfully destroyed by burning them. Nothing will be opened or read. This is purely a place to honour and grieve a loved one.Organizer Sarah Smith is the Bereavement Coordinator for 100 Mile and District Hospice. This year marks her 35th year with the society. She encourages the bereaved to “keep talking about your loved one, reminisce, honour, let ALL the feelings come. Acknowledge them. Mourning is the act of doing something with your grief emotions.”For information or support please reach out to the Hospice team at 250 395 7680.(Access note: the forested area of the trail can be accessed from either the Visitor Centre parking lot or the parking lot near the Stan Halcro Agriplex in 100 Mile House, BC.
